Biography
Min Seok Joo is a partner at Yoon & Yang LLC, and his main practice areas include digital finance, financial company’s license & permit, financial compliance, and financial company inspections & sanctions.
Mr. Joo provides legal advice to clients on various issues related to digital finance (new technologies such as AI, cloud and block chain, new businesses such as My Data, data regulation and IT compliance). In particular, based on his experience working at the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) and the Financial Services Commission (FSC), he represents and advises a wide range of clients (such as domestic & global big tech firms, financial companies, and fintech companies) on obtaining licenses & permits (i.e., registration & approval), responding to regulatory changes, and compliance issues related to preliminary inspections and new business operations, and inspections & sanctions undertaken by the financial watchdog. He also has ample experience in matters related to unfair trade, financial consumer protection, and regulation of listed companies.
