Biography
Jung Hoon Kim is an expert advisor at Yoon & Yang LLC and his main practice areas are bank and financial holding companies, financial and capital markets, financial compliance, financial company examination and sanctions, and insurance.
Jung Hoon Kim obtained his B.A. in Economics from Seoul National University and his MBA from New York University (NYU). He has approximately 20 years of experience at the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS), where he handled a wide range of financial regulations and practical affairs, e.g., research on virtual currency and blockchain technologies, bank supervision, bank inspection planning and on-site examinations, etc. In addition, while he was dispatched to the Office of Presidential Secretary for Economic Affairs, he monitored domestic and global financial market trends and coordinated financial policies to assess potential risk factors.
After leaving the FSS in 2020, Kim served as the Head of Strategic Planning and Sales at an independent insurance agency. There, he refined internal control systems, managed responses to regular FSS inspections, and oversaw risk management for large-scale business transfers and spin-offs. He joined Yoon & Yang LLC in 2026 and currently provides consulting services in financial regulation and insurance.
