Seung Jae Yeon is a partner at Yoon & Yang LLC. Mr. Yeon completed the 38th class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute and served as a judge advocate in the Republic of Korea Army.
Prior to joining Yoon & Yang, Mr. Yeon worked at the Financial Investment Supervision Department, the Dispute Settlement Department and the Corporate Disclosure Department of the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS), where he dealt with the overall aspects of capital markets and financial investment services, including license & approval affairs and regulation of business activities with respect to securities companies, foreign-affiliated investment banks and credit rating companies, regulations on disclosure, e.g. securities registration and business report, etc., review of public offering and sanctions on violations, etc., while handling various disputes across all fields of banking, securities and insurance. In particular, at the Insurance Supervision Department of the FSS, he obtained in-depth knowledge in the insurance industry such as insurance laws, license and approval of insurance companies, deliberation of large shareholders, regulation of insurance agencies and sales activities, reinsurance and fraternal insurance, etc. Based on such extensive expertise in the insurance-related matters, he provides optimal legal advice on M&As of insurance companies, licensing, sales activities, examinations and sanctions, and dispute resolution, etc.
