Sung Kyu Lee is a partner at Yoon & Yang LLC and his main practice area is criminal law.
Sung Kyu Lee began his public career as a prosecutor at the Southern Branch of the Seoul District Prosecutor’s Office, then served as a prosecutor at the Criminal Management Division of the Prosecution Bureau of the Ministry of Justice and the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office. Mr. Lee also served as a research officer at the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office and a director at the International Criminal and Public Safety Management Divisions of the Ministry of Justice. Thereafter, Mr. Lee served as the chief prosecutor at the Public Safety Division 2 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office and Criminal Division 1 of the Incheon District Prosecutor’s Office. Finally, Mr. Lee served as the deputy chief prosecutor at the Anyang Branch of the Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office and the Jeonju District Prosecutor’s Office, and the chief of the Western Branch of the Busan District Prosecutor’s Office.

Mr. Lee has extensive experience in labor matters including unfair labor practices, violations of the Labor Standards Act, industrial accidents, as well as election matters relating to false statements of facts, inducement of purchases and interest, donations, and establishment of similar institutions. Mr. Lee was involved in the drafting of practice guides on investigations, such as the “Commentary on Penal provisions of the Public Office Election Act” published by the Supreme Prosecutor's Office.

Mr. Lee obtained an LL.M. from Columbia Law School and is admitted to practice in the state of New York. Mr. Lee is also a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Lee has extensive international work experience and was involved in practical consultations with the U.S. Department of Justice on issues including extradition and cooperation in criminal justice matters.
