Kyu Woong Cho is a partner at Yoon & Yang LLC and his main practice areas are criminal law and intellectual property rights.
While working as a prosecutor at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office, Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors’ Office, Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office, Ansan Branch of Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office, Gwangju District Prosecutors’ Office, Jangheung Branch of Gwangju District Prosecutors’ Office, and the special prosecutor team for investigation of Sewol Ferry incident, Mr. Cho obtained expert knowledge in investigations of cyber crime, leakage of technologies including trade secrets and intellectual properties, etc. Before commencing his practice as a lawyer, he worked at Energy Lab of Central Research Center, Patent Strategy Team and Strategic Planning Team of Samsung SDI for ten years, during which he built first-hand experience in the energy industry including secondary cells. In particular, he has 37 patents registered in his name in Korea and abroad, including 12 U.S. patents in the sectors of secondary cells and fuel cells.
