Sihoon Yang is a partner at Yoon & Yang LLC, and his main practice areas are employment and labor, corporate-related civil and criminal litigations, and Japan.
As a judge, presiding judge and high court judge of a number of courts, he addressed a wide variety of civil, criminal and family cases and issuance of warrants from April 2006 to February 2023, before retiring as a judge of the Seoul High Court. In particular, he handled major cases at the Seoul High Court for six years, where he worked at the labor department and had opportunities to deal with many different types of labor issues, e.g. illegal dispatch, ordinary wages, legal nature of workers, dismissal, unfair labor practices, salary peak and fixed-term employees, etc. Further, at the appellate department of the Seoul High Court, Mr. Yang addressed various injunction cases regarding general meetings of shareholders, delisting and the status of successful bidders, etc. Since he studied in Japan, he is fluent in Japanese and has a wide network with attorneys in Japan. As one of the founding members of the Judicial Policy Research Institute, which is a judicial think tank, he published a large number of research reports based on in-depth legal research.
