Biography
Byungwon Jang is a senior advisor at Yoon & Yang LLC, and his main practice areas are pharmaceutical bio and healthcare.
Prior to joining Yoon & Yang, Mr. Jang has 35 years of administrative experience and expertise serving in various positions (i.e., general manager and director) at the Health Insurance Policy Division of the Ministry of Health & Welfare where he mainly handled issues related to insurance coverage and drug pricing policies, development & legislation of senior nursing insurance policies, budgets and audit-related matters, as well as the Ministry of Food & Drug Safety where he served as the Director of the Pharmaceutical Safety Bureau in charge of drug approvals and safety management, and also consecutively served as the Vice Minister in charge of approvals and safety management of food and drugs, medical devices and cosmetics. As the Vice President of the Korea Pharmaceutical Bio Association, Mr. Jang has tackled various issues facing the industry based on his administrative skill and capacity to effectively deal with industry-related issues such as insurance-covered drug prices and approvals, and quality control. He is an expert in the pharmaceutical bio and healthcare field, to which he has ample experience and expert knowledge as well as broad networking that was accumulated and formed while handling administrative matters in the healthcare industry (i.e, pharmaceutical bio) and addressing onsite industry issues.
