Biography
Cholsoo Han is an antitrust & competition expert who served as the Secretary General and five major Director General roles at the Fair Trade Commission.
After passing the 25th High Public Service Examination in 1981, Mr. Han commenced his public service career at the Economic Planning Board and handled finance, macroeconomics, and international trade matters. After working at the Fair Trade Commission for 19 years since 1995, he retired from public service in 2014 after his role as the Secretary General. His experience as a Director General encompasses the five major bureaus of the Fair Trade Commission, which include Cartel Investigation Bureau, Competition Policy Bureau, Anti-Monopoly Bureau, Market Analysis Bureau, and Consumer Policy Bureau. Having spent three years as the Secretary General, thus the longest-serving Secretary General, he demonstrates an unrivaled expertise across the entire purview of the Fair Trade Commission.
