Sung Wook Cho is a managing partner at Yoon & Yang LLC, and his main practice area is criminal law.
He began his career in public service as a Prosecutor at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors’ Office, and later served at the Gangreung Branch of Chuncheon District Prosecutors’ Office, Seoul District Prosecutors’ Office, Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office, Busan District Prosecutors’ Office, and Busan High Prosecutors’ Office. After his role as the Head of the Jecheon Branch of Cheongju District Prosecutors’ Office in 2000, he worked as the Deputy Chief Prosecutor at Criminal Department 10 at the Seoul District Prosecutors’ Office, Chief Prosecutor at the Public Security Department of Ulsan District Prosecutors’ Office, Attaché at Criminal Information Department 1 of the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office, Chief Prosecutor at Criminal Department 4 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office, and Prosecutor at the Busan High Prosecutors’ Office.
Mr. Cho later served as the Crime Information Planning Attaché at the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office, Secretary to the President for Civil Affairs II, Head of the Planning Department at the Legal Research Institute, and Deputy Minister of the Planning and Coordination Office at the Ministry of Justice. Beginning with the Chief Director of the Daejeon District Prosecutors’ Office in 2012, he served as the Chief Director of the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office as well as the Gwangju High Prosecutors’ Office, and the 23rd Chief Director of the Daejeon High Prosecutors’ Office before retiring from public service in 2015. After retirement, he was a Managing Partner at Attorney Cho Sung Wook Law Firm.
